I feel that I have been slacking on blogging. I've been picking up hours at work to compensate for the show. Plus the food co-ops are starting up and the money goes quickly! But I won't have to buy much during the summer/fall months.
These cute little bunnies are for Easter and going to a local gallery to be sold. Well hopefully! I wanted 10 but they take forever to make! Needle felting while fun, just doesn't go quickly. Well at least for me but I've very picky!
I am going to make a few alterations to make these guys easier to make. So next time they will go a little bit quicker?
I am going to be having a give away next week for a bee ornament I made! It has a quirk and I would like it to go to a good home! So tell you friends and Monday I will post! Hopefully!
I'm going back to working Sunday overnights so hopefully I won't be so bloody tired. Our company is looking to save money on having things delivered and our store went through a trial run. Our shelves looked soooo bare. Also it doesn't help that the only other grocery store in town closed at the end of February. So that means a lot more customers!!!! At all times of the night! It doesn't bother me, I just wish the younger kids would have a better work ethic! Seriously, I have never heard so many negative thoughts in my life. All I can think is you are sooo lucky to have a job right now.
If our store paid more they would have more of an adult workers but they start .25 cents more than minimum so no adult wants to work here! Plus the management never does anything about the poor attitudes, taking of long breaks, goofing off, etc....
Which brings me to what am I going to do when my youngest is in school full time in 2 years?!!? I do not want to work full time. I don't want a real job with real responsibilities! Family life already fulfills that for me. I like that I can work in 2 different departments and not be bogged down by the problems that go on in both. I like that I'm active and walk around a lot in the one department and that the other one is very physical! It makes me feel like I'm not such a wimp!
Thank goodness there is still over a year left! Lots of time for contemplation!

The New Year, Can't Wait
I am seriously getting psyched up for 2009. For us it's going to have some major changes. Not moving or anything that extreme but maybe more house repairs...
In March I plan on paying off my last credit card and then helping my husband pay off his big 3. I know you are probably in shock and horror that we have credit card debit?!?! Ahh yes we do and at one point it was up to almost $50,000. Running a business is not that easy and if you goof up on your accounting, well let's just say it doesn't make the government happy. Well actually it makes them very happy because they love getting paid. It didn't make us happy because we didn't have the money but had to put what we owed them on a credit card. Then it was a downward spiral of more debt adding up. Copper and silver needed to be bought to pay off the other credit card and he is a one man studio. He just can't keep up with the work he gets.
So after his debit is paid, he is revamping his website and going to stop doing business with some of our 3rd party people. Plus raising his prices which he really didn't do when copper almost quadrupled in price. He did raise prices with most of our silver pieces because silver went way high! We couldn't afford to buy silver to make anything.
We are going to be snobs in choosing what jobs he does. Which should elevate a lot of his stress. Plus we won't have to worry about people hounding us for small things. Which is all my husband gets from his 3rd party orders anyways. I do not think people understand that handmade means we do not keep inventory because we are busy filling other orders. Also he's a teacher and the school year months are busy busy. Which all his companies know but still demand a 2 week turn around. It is also posted on his website. Seriously people we spend no quality time together!
So I'm psyched for 2009! Plus, don't tell anyone but I'm really enjoying my job. My midnight shift once a week are my favorite. I love the ladies I work with and they make it worth being overtired to show up and throw stock. As I told the one lady I work with, I should really be paying my boss for working because it's so much fun.
Going to get my hair cut today! It needs it majorly!
Another fire picture. Have I mentioned I'm addicted to taking pictures of burning wood now? I shot a whole bunch of pictures yesterday that need to be uploaded! Don't worry I'm not turning into a pyromaniac or anything like that.

Who Would Have Thought...
That I'm going to be one of the working people again. After a 2 year hiatus, I was actually hired back. I had my interview yesterday and it really wasn't an interview. It was more like yeah I wanted to put a face to the name, the job is yours, how many hours and when can you work.
Wow! Shock, horror and much surprise on my part. Since my boss hasn't said anything to me since I quit 2 years ago! Then I saw her after the interview and I think she is one of those people who is never happy. Which makes me feel bad for her. Well as bad as I possibly can feel. I believe we have the ability to control how we look at that half full glass of water.
She is much younger than I am and has her life ahead of her. If life throws tomatoes at you, make tomato sauce with lots of oregano, basil and garlic! Or that's how I like to think of it anyways.
So I'm going to try to mind my own business and look to the positive side things! I will have money to put food on the table and to pay off the credit cards that have accumulated food and emergency things that have come up. This summer I will be running around from farm co-op to farm and since they are prepaid. I will have extra cash to set aside for Christmas and whatever the school year throws my way.
I may not be able to blog that much but I'm neurotic and always on the go. So it may not effect it at all. Which makes me a great worker, I just can't stand around not doing anything.
This will certainly be an interesting time for my husband who will be alone with the girls! Insert evil laugh here! Not that there is anything wrong with my children, they just dearly love their mother and aren't happy if they aren't making me miserable. Mom I forgot that this house isn't a place to just toss everything I don't want to eat or play with on the floor!
On a positive note, we found a home for our chickens. Which is good because I didn't want them going any place where they would be eaten by human or wild animal easily. Once wild animals find a good source of fresh food, they just keep going back!

Because something else happened...
I meant to do a lot of things this week but something else kept popping up. Let's start with what popped up. Well we all knew my FIL was going to have open heart surgery on Monday. No big surprise. My husband didn't realize he would be so affected by it, that he would need to spend 2 days at the hospital. Luckily he came home to take care of some business stuff and take the oldest to school. But I don't think he got a new tank of gas, so I'm not sure if he really needed to come home for that. Luckily he has a spare.
Then the oldest got sick when my husband decided he didn't need to go back to the hospital. So I had to pick her up from school. She had a fever and was super tired. That lasted until evening and she went to school the next day. If we didn't send her to school she would have complained about all that she missed. Yes she loves to learn. Now the youngest has the same fever today and is not happy. She's putting on a smile and saying she's fine. I look at her and know she's not. Hopefully tomorrow this will have past too.
I finally got to making chicken broth today. I had to go and remove the scum off the top. Which took FOREVER! Seriously, how do you know when you are done with taking the scum off? I thought I was done and then it started frothing. Do I remove the froth too then? I did, just incase it was scum in disguise.
Still waiting is a grapevine wreath I made over the fall, for a door decoration. It has to have acorns added to it and fairies. I only have one headless fairy for the wreath and acorns galore. Then the Esty shop... sigh... muffins... opps cat litter. I guess it's good to be busy... all the time.

To Post or Not to Post...
I've been debating about starting a blog for a month. I love reading them and peering into others peoples lives. I enjoy the possiblity of buying something another blogger has made or getting a good laugh at something that has happened. I know you're thinking all of that is positive and wonderful. So what's my problem?
Nothing exciting ever happens to blog about, to me anyway. Plus I'm sort of shy and I don't want to feel like I've lost my anonminty in my life. I live in a very small town between farms, cows, and corn fields.
So, like many other people, I'm going to venture into the world of blogging. I hope it works, I'm sort of nervous!
