Hello? Sorry It's Been A While!

I know, I haven't posted in a week, maybe more! I've been busy! I've picked up more hours at work because the show didn't go as well as hoped. So I'm working 40 hours this week. Maybe the whole month if I do a good job in the Dairy Frozen Department. It's D/Frozen month and they need the help!
So back to the show with pictures of the booth! Here's the space we work with before we put anything into it!
Don't we have a nice view of the other wing? Plus the stairs and porch areas leading to the spa!

So here's the display board and all the other stuff to make the magic happen. I get to guard while my husband brings it in! woohoo!
Here it is with all the merchandise. Kind of dark and we don't leave the iMac box there, my husband transports the computer to and from the show. We are very high tech and can print out receipts while the customer's pay! The clocks are not fully done by my husband, he just does the copper work on them.
The show had lots of people but they were uneducated about the Arts & Crafts movement. An antique dealer friend of ours said the stuff he's been toting around for years because it's junk sold out! The people who were buying it thought it was a steal. So it goes to show you that someone's trash is someone else's treasure.
My husband had way too many high end items and not enough middle to low end pieces. Plus I'm really bored with what he's doing. I told him I was uninspired by his work lately and he needed to move in a different direction. Something like this, which was a custom order!
Bronze bracelet with a silver overlay, chased details and set garnet! It's what Heintz used to do for his vases. Love the green rose vase! Beautiful and a wonderful patina! So my husband has added an etsy shop to his website and blog to drum up sales. Filled the local gallery and thankfully we have 150 switch plates to make!! Woohoo!
Plus we picked up some Ephraim pottery! Plus ornaments which are so freaking cute and cool! I think we picked up my MIL the one with the red berries on it, as a thank you for taking the kids. We choose one that is not on the site but I will take pictures of it and our vase!
Besides of that, I'm trying to finish my very late Christmas socks for my husband but I've ran into big knots in the hank. It's because I decide to make it more transportable by making it into a ball of yarn! Plus bunny ornaments for a local gallery for Easter but I lost my felting needles so I'm waiting for the new ones to arrive!
Have a great week!

Yes!

Yesterday I sold something from my Etsy shop! Now I've sold things before but never to someone who doesn't know me. So those previous sales don't really count because there is the connection and possibly a play on sympathy strings. Friends will always buy things from friends even if they don't need it. You can always count on your friends to buy things from you. They may not need whatever it is they are buying. But people can always rationalize who, or why they are buying the unneeded thing for.
So this why it's awesome, that someone out there bought something that I made without knowing me. They wanted it or are giving it someone they know without the pressure of knowing me. It was a great ending to a mediocre day.
I'm also trying to start a mailing list for those who are interested in getting updates when I post. I don't know if I did it properly but it's what came up when I googled mailing list. If it doesn't work I can always do more research and undo what I did. Then pretend it never happened! So if you are interested the link is on the right. You can always unjoin too. So there's no pressure.

Murphy's Law At Work

So I went out and called home. Wouldn't you know it, daughter #1 ends up being sick. Throwing up, fever. Ugh. I didn't go home because well, I called at a not so good time I couldn't tell if my husband was joking or not. So the more I ask, if she's really sick, the more pissed off and short with me he gets. I felt it was okay to stay out.
We went to a martini bar, which was fun and had a few martini's. There was a drag contest that night, so we had entertainment too. Not bad for never going out! Unfortunately I didn't sleep that night. For me (I don't know if other mom's have this problem) I can't sleep a good sleep when a child is sick. It's like my mom spidey sense going into light sleep mode. So even though it feels like I could be sleeping, I'm not. Which is great because my daughter ended up having an accident in the bathroom an hour after I was home. So yeah, me! I got to clean at 2am!
The next day she pretty much didn't leave her room but decided to run the waiter. She'd sleep and then yell for me. It was a beautiful sunny day and the lighting was perfect to take new pictures of everything that hadn't been working out.
Here's some pictures of robot pincushions I had made a while ago. I was inspired by other robot toys that I had seen, to make these robot pincushions. I figured if there were boy sewer's out there, this was what they needed.
Then the cake pincushions that have been so much trouble photographing. They need day light to look good. The color was way off on the photos before these or they weren't in focus. I put the one robot and one cake in my etsy shop.
Then bird ornaments that have been rattling around in my brain for a while. With these ornaments the new camera want's to only focus on a small section of this. So the head would be perfect and everything else blurry. It takes some getting used to how far away you have to be and not moving. Which is hard because my youngest wanted to help. So she would be adding things to the shot and I would click and jerk the camera. Not the best photographing session I ever had, certainly the most interesting. It took a good 4-8 hours. I had to re-shoot somethings 3 times.
I don't know why but I don't I don't have a picture of this heart pincushion I did. It's in my etsy shop but I guess I forgot to add it to flcker. What are you going to do? Murphy's Law, at least I feel like I got a lot done.
Also, exciting news! I finished one of my socks today! Then I went to work on the second one and I lost the sheet of pattern with all my pattern notes! So these socks may not be identical but I think I can figure out the pattern by looking at the first sock. I'm keeping my finger's crossed on this one!

Updates!

Hey look, I've been spending quality time with my husband and I now have a banner. Plus look to the right, a link to my etsy shop. It was good high tech quality time!
These are the ornaments I've listed.

Aren't they beautiful or at least cute! They were a challenge and fun to make. I hope they get good homes.
Happy Thanksgiving, early but it maybe the only chance I get.
My family decided to get together at a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner this year. I kind of like the idea but as I think about it, it kind of feels not family like. I understand why we are doing it. My mother insists on doing everything for the holidays. She burns herself out and rarely takes help. It's in her nature. I've only hosted Christmas here once and that was 3 years ago. Christmas, maybe at my brother's this year, since he's buying a house. I shall see.
Only things that could go wrong is my oldest is sick again!! She went to her first Girl Scout sleepover and one of the girls had this terrible cough. It was really bad, I couldn't believe this girl was sleeping in a small enclosed room with the girls. Now my daughter has the same cough that this girl had. She seems tired and out of it. I'm hoping she will feel better after sending her to bed early today.
Notice my cats up on the banner. More stories to come about them. Their names are Mochacchino aka (Mochie), Sasha, Gabbie, and Luna. Have fun figuring out who is who.
