Things Bought and Finished

So here's what I bought from Joann's at their Christmas sale.Lots of poinsettia garland's, holly and ribbons for Fairies. Mostly skirt and wing material but you never know what I will come up with. Even I don't know and sometimes I surprise myself.
Next things I've worked on and I have pictures of, that will give you an idea. Not happy with the pictures but it's a borrowed camera.
First the fairies, which had been hanging around half finished. Spring and fall and only 1 1/2 inches tall. I love to recycle anything and everything. These little cakes have bottle caps in the bottom of them. I haven't measured them but they are small. Then to top them off tiny little birthday candles. They are made from steel pins and shrinky dinks. I will be posting the cakes with candles in my Etsy shop. When the camera gets here. I don't like the details I'm getting.
I received my Free People catalog in the mail and really like the back of this. I do not like what they did with the front.
I don't even mind the stripes. What bothers me visually is the elastic on the bottom. It ruins the shirt for me. I may try to make my own version of this. The rose is like the glasgow rose which I really like. Which is one of the few Arts & Crafts things I do like. So if it has a rose like that on it, I have to have it! I do love these variations of the rose.

Two Gifts And Then Some!

Whew it's been busy here! I finished the snail today! It was tough, my finger is swollen and painful but I think it looks good (the snail that is not the finger)! I also made this fairy today! She's kind of a gothic fairy or a very fashionable fairy. Her hair needs a little combing but that will have to wait for the glue to dry. She is going to a good friend who I've know FOREVER, so I know she'll love this.
I'm also going to make my MIL a tea cozy. She mentioned she wanted one and my in laws are so good to us. I felt like we didn't make enough to show how much we appreciate them! So I need that for the day after Christmas. It's hopefully going to be a quilted sweater tea cozy. I like usually have NO clue what I'm doing. How big does it need to be? How am I going to sew the squares together. Damn the movie Nanny McPhee for giving her the idea. It's okay. It will be done!
So yesterday there was a war at my house! No one died but someone was hurt. Who, I don't know. All I know is the cats were fighting! Luna doesn't get that not everyone wants to play with her. So she's gets really Hobbes like and attacks the other cats. Which leads to lots of screeching, hissing, and cats running through the house. After it calmed down I went to do some work. Well there was a blood trail going up stairs. Through the hallway, ending on my CREAM colored carpet in the office! I concluded that one of the cats is hurt majorly. Have you ever tried finding a wound on an animal that is covered in fur? It's like trying to find Where's Waldo among fake Waldo's. Needless to say all the cats were intact. No one was missing a limb, ear, or tail. My husband's only other thought is that they found a mouse and were fighting over the body and tore it apart. EWW! I like to think they are super fast healers and the fur is cover this wound.

Updates!

Hey look, I've been spending quality time with my husband and I now have a banner. Plus look to the right, a link to my etsy shop. It was good high tech quality time!
These are the ornaments I've listed.

Aren't they beautiful or at least cute! They were a challenge and fun to make. I hope they get good homes.
Happy Thanksgiving, early but it maybe the only chance I get.
My family decided to get together at a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner this year. I kind of like the idea but as I think about it, it kind of feels not family like. I understand why we are doing it. My mother insists on doing everything for the holidays. She burns herself out and rarely takes help. It's in her nature. I've only hosted Christmas here once and that was 3 years ago. Christmas, maybe at my brother's this year, since he's buying a house. I shall see.
Only things that could go wrong is my oldest is sick again!! She went to her first Girl Scout sleepover and one of the girls had this terrible cough. It was really bad, I couldn't believe this girl was sleeping in a small enclosed room with the girls. Now my daughter has the same cough that this girl had. She seems tired and out of it. I'm hoping she will feel better after sending her to bed early today.
Notice my cats up on the banner. More stories to come about them. Their names are Mochacchino aka (Mochie), Sasha, Gabbie, and Luna. Have fun figuring out who is who.
