Crocus

So it's April and that means tomorrow is my birthday. I've decided I'm definitely not counting how old I am. I'm just going to add, which means I'm eight this year! Woohoo. If you have no clue what I'm talking about here's where you need to go.
I finally delivered the baby gifts yesterday and they are well loved. Plus I found out no one has given her any cloth diapers yet. She's having another shower so she's hoping to get some then. I will finish using up all my yarn and make at least 3 more newborn ones.
In September my youngest will be heading out for a half day of kindergarden and I will get a chance to work days. There is a before school program that I can sign the girls up for so I can work a 4 hour shift. I've let all my bosses know (yes I have 3 bosses now) that this is what is going on. I really want to stop doing 8 hours on Sundays. Plus the 2am or 4am ending shifts are not fun at all. It takes a toll on me on Monday's, Tuesday's and sometimes Wednesday's. So is the working the 32 hours a week but I think if my sleep schedule was the same almost all the time, I could deal with it better.
So the change is in the air and I'm definitely looking forward to it. Another positive note, I will have paid off my last credit card this month! So excited. Of course the car needs new tires and the kitten needs to get fixed but that frees up a large sum of money. Next to conquer is helping my husband with business debt. Plus the building next to us is going to be for sale next year. It would open up a lot of teaching opportunities for my husband. He will be able to do week long classes if people are interested in the summer.

Who Would Have Thought...

Wow! Shock, horror and much surprise on my part. Since my boss hasn't said anything to me since I quit 2 years ago! Then I saw her after the interview and I think she is one of those people who is never happy. Which makes me feel bad for her. Well as bad as I possibly can feel. I believe we have the ability to control how we look at that half full glass of water.
She is much younger than I am and has her life ahead of her. If life throws tomatoes at you, make tomato sauce with lots of oregano, basil and garlic! Or that's how I like to think of it anyways.
So I'm going to try to mind my own business and look to the positive side things! I will have money to put food on the table and to pay off the credit cards that have accumulated food and emergency things that have come up. This summer I will be running around from farm co-op to farm and since they are prepaid. I will have extra cash to set aside for Christmas and whatever the school year throws my way.
I may not be able to blog that much but I'm neurotic and always on the go. So it may not effect it at all. Which makes me a great worker, I just can't stand around not doing anything.
This will certainly be an interesting time for my husband who will be alone with the girls! Insert evil laugh here! Not that there is anything wrong with my children, they just dearly love their mother and aren't happy if they aren't making me miserable. Mom I forgot that this house isn't a place to just toss everything I don't want to eat or play with on the floor!
On a positive note, we found a home for our chickens. Which is good because I didn't want them going any place where they would be eaten by human or wild animal easily. Once wild animals find a good source of fresh food, they just keep going back!

Anthropologie Love and Give Away

I received my Anthropologie catalog yesterday and I am in love with some of the things in there! I do have a love/hate relationship and this is one of those love times. I adore this green dress with the crocheting on the hem. If you have to have it, buy it here Caravanserai Dress.
Next dress is this cute Enija Lotus Dress, while it's not in the catalog it did catch my eye on line. I love the colors and the silouette of it, very retro

This dress is just amazing Volubilis Dress. You have to check out the hem online and I love the detailing on the waist! Only problem is for me anyways, it says 57" in the description, does that mean every dress is 57" long? I'm petite so it would be nice to know. Not that I can afford it.
Last up, is this too cute for words Colorfield Cardigan! I love the ruffles on the sides of the buttons and the cute little flowered accent. Can you tell that I wanted to go into fashion when I was younger? I seriously did. I even had a portfolio and everything. Watched Style with Elsa Klensch religiously. Did I mention I was like 16. I would still like a job in fashion. I would love to review clothes, so if you work for Anthropologie. I'm your woman!
Now to the good stuff. On my birthday or maybe I'll make it the day before my birthday and my birthday, I will be giving away 2 fairies maybe 3 if I can find the 3rd one to this set. To qualify all you have to do is comment on those two days. Comment once each day and check in to win. My birthday is April 9th.

This That And 10 Cord Of Wood

So my days have been really off this week. I'm a day and a week ahead of time. I think it's because I really want to go to the handworks party. I think my gift came out better than I had hoped for. Even after all my missteps.
I've come to the realization that I need to go back to work. It would have been 2 years without having a job in February. Unfortunately it's been a very odd sales year. I don't if other artist's or business owners have the same thoughts. We've had barely any gallery sales this year. We've had very small sales all December. Which we are very grateful for. So I will be filling an application tomorrow. I keeping my fingers crossed. It's only part time but every little bit helps. Plus I still get to spend days with my youngest. She's not too keen on me leaving to go any where. Want to go downstairs, she thinks I'm leaving her alone forever!
Today we finally received our wood delivery. 10 cords of wood. Which is a lot of wood. I spent dinner time helping my husband stack wood on the porch. I love having a wood burning stove! It's magical. I love starting the fire, getting wood, stacking wood, etc... It makes me feel like I have a purpose and I get to enjoy the benefits of it. Plus it's a work out!
